Far North Wonders

                          Far North Wonders

Up in the Far North we have many things to see and do like beautiful scenery, glorious beaches and more! In our inquiry this year we have been learning about NZ history, our local history and this term we are looking at geography of NZ because we are reading a book called 'Cuz' that is set in NZ.
In the Far North you can grab an ice cream (the biggest ever! 4 scoops with a lolly on top) from Te Kao and chillax on the warm sand of the many beaches around the Far North.

You could have a drive through the Mangamuka Gorge and have a look at the beautiful bush.

Do you like sand? Well if so you should check out the Te Paki Sand Dunes! Whether you just wanna chill or have a thrill, you can do both!

There are many amazing things to do in the Far North. There are many more incredible places in New Zealand! We are lucky to live in such a special country.

In our class we have been learning about Fiords and Sounds. Not the sounds you hear, the Sounds in Geography.  They are stunning parts of NZ.

Beeswax wraps!!

                          Beeswax Wraps!!

In class We have made Beeswax wraps. They are  fabric coated in melted beeswax. We could also draw our design of choice on the fabric before coating them in beeswax. We did this so we could help the environment. We are helping the environment by not using plastic or toxic materials for wrapping our lunch. The plastic in our lunch boxes will most ,likely blow away into the ocean. From there many animals like birds and sea life will eat them. If they do they will be very sick but if our beeswax wraps somehow end up in the ocean that can be eaten and the animals wont get sick. We are also trying to replace plastic with our wraps so there will be no more pollution around the world!
What is your favourite Lunch-Box food?
