Weekly Reflection - Week 2!

My Week...
This week I enjoyed many things, especially doing the work around the human skeletal system. It was very interesting and I cant wait until next weeks lesson.
Something I succeeded in was also the skeleton work. I have always known a lot about anatomy and it is now my time to shine.
This week I found my speech challenging because I am terrible at speeches (specifically writing them).
This week, I have learned lots of things to do with "Hildegard Of Bingen".
Next week I am looking forward to our science work to do with the human body.(Hopefully it isn't too weird).
This week, I have shown "PONO" by always being truthful and upfront with anyone.

The Life Of Hildegard Of Bingen

In class we have been learning about the journey of a women called "Hildegard Of Bingen".
We read a text together and then we were assigned at task.
That task was to find a group, and work with them to create an animation about her of when she was a child, a teacher, and a nun.
Here is our finished product:

Cyber Smart!

In class we were working on cyber smart.
Our task was to label the comments with a thumbs up (good) or a thumbs down (bad)
We worked in groups to complete this task.
Here is our finished product:

This task was fun because I got to learn lots about the criteria that a quality blog post requires.

Weekly Reflection!

This week has been a great start to the new Term.
I enjoyed doing our science work because it was fun to draw my perspective of a scientist and what they do.
Something I succeeded in is my creative writing planning. I am really bad at writing so I am proud that I have made very good progress with my writing work.
One of the most challenging things I have encountered this week was cross-country.
I have never been a good runner and I need to push myself to improve on my times.
One thing I have learned is the structure to an Imaginative prayer. An imaginative prayer is when you start your prayer with something on a deeper level eg. "Gracious Creator" instead of something like "Loving Father"...
Something I am looking forward to next week is elaborating more on our science work. This week it was very fun and I cant wait to learn more about it.
This week, I have shown the value *Pono* by always telling the truth whenever I am asked something.
I am really looking forward to next week!

My Holiday Reflection!

My Holiday
During the holidays, I was very un-active.
Although I was training in my personal gym, it was still a very “lazy” holiday.
My main source of entertainment was the PS4 (specifically Rainbow Six Siege).
It is a game where you load up into a match with your friends and battle the other team in multiple formats. You have different “Operators” that you can choose from, all of which have different gadgets. Some gadgets are perfect for specific situations and some are not so good so it is all about strategy.
I had a great time playing with my friends.

I mostly sat around and watched youtube.
It’s cool because I can just chillax and block out the world. I also heard on the news that an app named “Tik Tok” will possibly be banned in NZ. Personally, I am not at all phased by this but I know that my classmates will be a bit upset :/

My most prominent memory is when my brother said that he would build me a new PC (Personal Computer), for my birthday, costing around $1,500.
I feel really blessed because my yearly income is about $100 so it would take me 15 years to save up for it. I am extremely lucky that my dad offered to support this decision because normally, he isn't too keen on my gaming passion, he even set a time for the wifi to turn off so that I wouldn't be on my ps4 for too long.

All and all it was a very relaxed holiday.   :D

Why We Pray...

In Class we have been focusing on Imaginative Prayers. Our task about that today was to read some of the scriptures from "This Site" and create a summary of them.
Here is my finished DLO:
I enjoyed this task because I liked seeing all of the different scriptures/perspectives about prayer in the bible.

Cyber Smart

In class we have been asked to create a blog post about something that we enjoyed about Cyber Smart and something that we want to learn about in Cyber Smart.

What I enjoyed in Cyber Smart so far is definitely when we were focusing on coding. Since the age of like 9 I have always been interested in coding.

The thing I want to focus on more during Cyber Smart is Coding.
I think it is very fun and I would like to get into deeper concepts of
it.

What is your favourite Tech subject?

End Of Term Reflection!

End Of Term Reflection!
The highlight of my term was doing the *Milk Experiment*.
I liked  doing this because the colours were very interesting
and we learnt lots as well.
It is definitely my favourite experiment!

My biggest challenge during this term was definitely experiencing online learning through lockdown.
It was hard to get my head around at first but after a while of focus, I got into the rhythm and it slowly became normal.

My greatest success this term has to be overcoming the challenge of online learning. It took a few days of getting used to but as soon as I felt comfortable, I flew through my work like it was nothing. I am now prepared for the worst (school wise).

During this term, I have learned SO much to do with angles. At first I came in with lots of prior knowledge but after learning more about it, I found that there was a lot more to angles than just protractors.
I can now confidently say that I have overcome angles and I am now able to teach others.

The thing that I am looking forward to this holiday is spending time with my friends (Ollie,Brady,George,Ben) and having a good time whilst gaming like we usually do. I enjoy making memories with them and staying up late and just generally *VIBING*.

I have really enjoyed this term because it has been fun and I have learnt lots of new things that I can apply to future opportunities.(College, University, Jobs).

Matariki Planting!

Matariki Planting!
In class we have been learning about Matariki. One of our tasks was to research these 2 Maori Gods that are related to Matariki.
We had to make a fact file about each of them.
Here they are:
