Clay Art

                                Clay art

                            Term 2 Wk 5

In week five of term two we made Kiwi designs out of air drying clay.We had to do something to do with new Zealand or our whanau (family).I did a jandal because whenever me and my family go  camping we go to a beach called "Houhora Bay" and we always get sand in our jandals. In class we learned that you need to put all of the clay into one thing or  it will crumble and break, you need to make it thick and strong or it will crumble like a cookie.
It was pretty fun in general and i really liked it.
What design would you make??

NZ History Learning

W.A.L.T research NZ history....

In our class we are learning about NZ[New Zealand]history and the events that happened in the past.We have been learning about what it was like in the war,how to write a letter from the people in the wars point of view and we researched things about the timelines from 1200s to 2000s. Me and my group researched the 1600s. We found out that Abel Tasman first sighted New Zealand on the 13 of December , 1642.

My year of learning!

My year of learning!
My Favourite Memory of learning was in science!
We made wicked ice cream. It was delicious. We had to carefully measure the ingredients so it didn't go wrong.

I really enjoy coming to school to meet my friends.
I also enjoy doing P.E With Garth and Paulo.
I find writing pretty challenging. At first I was really bad at it but as i´m moving up classes I keep getting better and better at it.

This year has been really fun for me and I hope to relive the fun in the next year of school!

Advent

Advent
This year advent will start on the 3rd of December and end on the 24th of December. The word advent means the arrival of an important person or thing. On an advent wreath there are 4 candles.
3 purple candles and 1 pink candle . Every Sunday 1 candle is lit.

Wonder

Wonder...

Wonder is a very special book that we have been reading throughout the year.

It has a very powerful message.

Wonder is an inspiring book. Its all about treating others how you wanted to be treated.

In this case its Auggie Pullman. The main character.

He just wants to be treated like a normal boy.

But there is something not so normal about him...

His looks.

Auggie has been bullied because of this when really he is a super cool guy,but others don´t  see that. And that´s the problem.

We have learned never to judge a person by their looks or what they like.
You should never judge someone for anything anyway.
